Actions Speak Louder

If your words were melodies
They’d be music to my ears
Like a Tchaikovsky sonata
A musician’s wildest dream

If your words could serenade
They’d sound so perfectly
Like a Philharmonic orchestra
Playing perfect symphonies

If your words could captivate
A captive, I would be
You’re a modern-day Scheherazade
Whisp’ring wonders next to me

If your words were lies instead
Call me a thrice-damned fool
Oh pitiable wretch, dear heart!
How could you be so cruel?

And if I find another love
Let he be unlike you
Eloquent you may be, but oh–
Your words are all untrue
