Palu (I Weep for You)

what can these hands do
when the earth and waters move
when the earth and waters swallow
when whole worlds and castles crumble
how can these hands help
when stronger men have tried and failed
when whole nations that do something
have their aid amount to nothing
how can these hands carry
all the weight of debris and stone
when the hands that are already there
can move them all nowhere
what can these hands do
when people buried underneath
eerie, haunting, hopeless silence
what can these hands lift
but the tears away from eyes
that cannot help but watch
as the world cannot help much
what can these hands do
but pound against walls of frustration
there is nothing i can do but
type these words out for Palu
